강남구립국제교육원 홈페이지에 방문하신 것을 환영합니다. 1900년대 초 독립운동가이신 도산 안창호 선생님께서 미국 California, Riverside 지역에서 활동하신 업적을 기념하기 위하여 1998년 강남구청과 Riverside 시는 자매도시로 협정을 맺게 되었습니다. 이후 강남구청은 주민들을 위한 교육서비스의 일환으로2001년 6월 22일 강남구립국제교육원을 설립하게 되었습니다.

강남구립국제교육원은 강남구청이 설립하고 UC Riverside가 운영하는 국내 최초어학연수 기관이며, 수업방식 및 학사관리가 현지 UC Riverside Extension Center, IEP(International English Program)교과과정과 동일하게 운영되고 있습니다. 따라서 GNUCR 입학생들은 유학을 가지 않고도 미국 현지 어학연수 프로그램과 동일한 교육을 받을 수 있으며, 다양한 교내 활동을 통하여 유익하고 독창적인 영어교육과 문화를 체험할 수 있습니다.

교육원에서는 TESOL, CELTA, TEFL 자격을 갖춘 전문 강사진을 구성하여 교육의 전 과정을 미국 현지 UCR에서 감독하고 있습니다. 미국내 대학 학사과정으로 입학시 GNUCR에서 이수한 학점을 1학기당 4학점씩, 최고 8학점까지 인정받을 수 있습니다.

Welcome to the Gangnam-UCR International Education Center! In honor of Korean independence activist (and Riverside resident) Dosan Ahn Chang Ho, the cities of Gangnam and Riverside, California entered into a sister city agreement in 1998. Thereafter, the Gangnam-University of California, Riverside International Education Center (GNUCR) was established on June 22, 2001 to serve as an affordable and effective alternative to overseas English language education.

GNUCR serves as a joint education project between the Gangnam-gu government office and the University of California, Riverside, and is the first of its kind in Korea. GNUCR follows the same curriculum as the Intensive English Program that is offered by the UC Riverside Extension Center. As a result, GNUCR students can experience high-quality English language education, engaging student activities and cultural learning opportunities without having to leave Korea.

GNUCR instructors possess years of experience and teaching qualifications such as TESOL, CELTA and TEFL certificates. In addition, the English language curriculum is directly managed by the University of California. Upon successful completion of each session at GNUCR, students are eligible to receive 4 credits/session (8 credits maximum) which can be transferred to US universities for undergraduate study.
